I'm having some issues with my five year old daughter wetting the bed so I decided to google some information and ways to prevent bed wetting. I found an article on bed wetting on WebMd. This article displays the (E) for education in my eyes because of all the facts it provided about bed wetting. The article stated that there was a gene on chromosomes 8,12, and 13 that are inherited genetically for bed wetting! The article stated there is no single cause for bed wetting and that children gain bladder control at night at different ages. Studies show according to the article that 15 percent of children wet the bed after the age of ten!
The article offered ways to prevent bed wetting as well that I thought where really helpful. The tip that stuck out to me the most and where I felt I could use the help is to cut off drinks at the same time every night. This tip is suppose to in a sense "train the bladder." A good way to look at it is if it isnt't full then nothing will come out. I found this article to be very helpful with helping my daughter conquer bed wetting.

We have a 6 year old who is still wetting the bed also so after reading your post and the article I learned some things about it I didn't even realize before. I didn't realize that it is a gene that could be inherited that is pretty interesting. I always felt it was something we were doing wrong but I am glad the article offered some helpful tips for us to help him. Thanks for sharing this was very educational.
